What I’m buying at the Sephora Sale this fall

Well y’all, it’s that time of year again; the Sephora sale is upon us! This is a perfect time to stock up on products that you’ve used in the past and love. It’s also a great time to try out new products at a discounted price! I’ll be breaking down my products into these two categories: products I’ve bought and loved and products that I’m going to try to for the first time. I typically try to buy more “clean” products, but not all my purchases fall in that category. Do your own research if this is important to you. I recommend using the Yuka app to see their assessment of products. So, with out further ado, let’s dive in!

Previous Purchases

Here is a list of products that I’ve bought from Sephora in the past. I’ll put a star* next to the one’s I plan to repurchase this year. If I’m not repurchasing, it’s because I haven’t run out yet and/or don’t feel the need to stock up at this time. Prices listed are what products cost at full price.

Skin:
  1. iNNBEAUTY PROJECT: Slushy Serum Moisturizer Crush Infused with Bakuchiol*: I use this serum for hydration and to help with reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles (Bakuchiol is a natural retinol alternative). Price: $30.
  2. Kosas DreamBeam Silicone-Free Mineral Sunscreen SPF 40 with Ceramides and Peptides*: This is the perfect sunscreen to wear under your makeup. It is important for me to use a mineral sunscreen with a higher level of SPF. This one glides on beautifully. Price: $40.
Hair:
  1. ColorWow Dream Coat Supernatural Spray Anti-Frizz Treatment: Living in Houston means managing your hair in an extremely humid climate. I’ve been using this since the spring Sephora sale and really do notice a difference. Price: $28.
Makeup:
  1. Milk Hydro Grip Hydrating Makeup Primer with Hyaluronic Acid + Niacinamide: I use this viral primer when I’m using any type of tinted serum or full coverage foundation. It helps with application and for longevity of the makeup. Price: $38.
  2. Kosas Air Brow Tinted Clean Volumizing Eyebrow Gel*: I don’t want a super laminated brow, but I want a little bit of definition/color. This is a cleaner version of the Glossier Boy Brow. I use shade taupe. Price: $24.
  3. Kosas The Sun Show Glowy Warmth Talc-Free Baked Bronzer: I used bronzer SO much in college but stopped using it as much in recent years. I bought this one in the spring, and I feel like it gives you a nice little bit of color to make you look more alive. I use the Beachy – light medium bronze shade. Price: $35.
  4. Tower 28 BeachPlease Lip + Cheek Cream Blush: This blush is a nice, creamy blush that blends beautifully. However, I will say that depending on the foundation you’re using sometimes I feel like it fades away into the product. This was especially true for me when I was using the Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint. I use color Magic Hour. Price: $20.
  5. Tower 28 OneLiner Lip Liner + Eyeliner + Cheek Pencil: This is a nice lip liner that is subtle but adds nice definition. I use shade Fill Me In and pair it with the Tower 28 ShineOn Lip Jelly Non-Sticky Gloss. Price: $15.
  6. Tower 28 ShineOn Lip Jelly Non-Sticky Gloss: If you are looking for a glossy lip color that is not sticky then I recommend this Tower 28 gloss. I use shade Sesame. Price: $16.
  7. Kosas Revealer Super Creamy + Brightening Concealer with Caffeine and Hyaluronic Acid: This is a great concealer that doesn’t crease and blends very nicely. I had a Sephora salesperson help me find my shade. I wear Tone 2.5 C. Price: $30.
  8. tarte Tartelette™ In Bloom Clay Eyeshadow Palette: this palette is perfect for everyday or doing a fancier eye for a night out. Price: $45.

New Products I’m Purchasing This Year

During the Sephora sale this year I am really focusing on skincare this time around with a few makeup products sprinkled in. My skin concerns are signs of aging, dryness, uneven skin tone/redness and texture. I have heard great things about The Ordinary, so a lot of the products I’m buying are from that line.

Makeup:
  1. Lancôme Lash Idôle Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara: I have been searching to find an affordable mascara that I love, and I have come up short. So we’re going to give this popular one a try. Price: $30.
  2. Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm for Hydration & Shine: this is another viral product that I need to try for myself! Hoping that it lives up the hype. I’m getting it in shade Vanilla Beige. Price: $24.
Skincare
  1. The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Squalane: Squalane is supposed to be extremely hydrating. I plan to add this to my nightly skincare routine. Price: $10.
  2. The Ordinary Soothing & Barrier Support Serum: This serum is supposed to “support skin-barrier repair while soothing discomfort and reducing the look of redness.” Price: $17.
  3. The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2% Exfoliating Serum: The Ordinary Glycolic Acid is one of their more popular acid treatments but seems a bit harsh for my sensitive skin. My research told me that the Lactic Acid is a gentler exfoliating option. I plan to use this once a week. Price: $8.90.
  4. Glow Recipe Plum Plump Refillable Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer: this is supposed to be great for dry skin, so we’re going to try it. I’ve been using creams but don’t feel like they are fully penetrating the skin for a deep hydration, so I’m going to pay a bit more for this one. Price: $39.
  5. The Ordinary Argireline Solution 10%: This serum targets fine lines, specifically forehead 11 lines and smile lines. Price: $9.40.
  6. The Ordinary Mini Squalane Cleanser: I’m trying this one in the mini size. I currently use La Roche Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Wash, which I like but don’t love, so I thought I’d give this one from The Ordinary a try. It is supposed to help with dryness (hello Squalane). Price: $9.

So, that’s everything I’ve bought and recommend, plus everything I’m going to be trying out this time around! Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products and what you think of them. Happy Sephora Sale to you! ☻
