I recently listened to two audiobooks that I’ve heard great things about, and they did NOT disappoint! I listen to audiobooks when I’m driving by myself (a rarity these days), but mostly when I’m doing chores around the house or getting ready for the day when my son is napping. They are a great way to read more when you don’t have the time to sit and read a physical book. Here are two that I highly recommend!
Born a Crime by Trevor Noah
Details of the book:
Trevor Noah narrates the tale of his life growing up in South Africa under apartheid. He has a black mother and a white father; thus, when he was born, it was literally a crime for him to exist. He tells stories from his childhood all the way into his twenties.
Why I love the audio:
Hearing Noah tell the stories had me cackling (literally laughing out loud). He brings that comedic flair to the reading. Also, I loved hearing him speak the different African languages. Hearing the languages spoken by a native truly enriches the story.

Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Details of the book:
I’m sure you’re familiar with the premise of the story, but just in case you’re not, here we go! This story follows a fictional band that reaches its peak in the 70s. What is unique about the book is that the story is told as a transcript from interviews with each of the band members. I listened to this one before I watched the Amazon Prime adaptation of the book.
Why I love the audio:
Since this book is written in interview format, every character has a different narrator. I was worried that this would make it difficult to follow, but you learn their different voices as you listen. Hearing all the different characters enhances the experience and makes it a unique audiobook worth checking out.
What other audiobooks do you recommend? I am always looking for new ones!
I hope you enjoy these as much as I did!
